Two space veterans estimate Gemini 6 and 7 came within about three feet during the historic rendezvous, a tad closer than earlier NASA figures. Frank Borman and James Lovell watched the color films taken by Walter Schirra and Thomas Stafford aboard USS Wasp at sea before returning to Cape Kennedy. They noted flying in weightless space is easier than in Earth's atmosphere, as the film showed nose to nose maneuvers during the three orbit pass at 17,500 mph. The first processed films aired Friday, refining earlier reports of closish proximity.

Accident Reported In Linton Saturday
The Linton City Police reported a weekend crash on Glenburn Road. Walter J Stoppenhagen, 54, of Linton, stopped across Ky 54 at 11 30 a m Saturday, and Robert L Rusher, 33, of RTC 2 Linton, northbound on Hwy 54, struck the stopped vehicle on the left front and side, causing about 400 dollars damage to Stoppenhagen and 200 dollars to Rusher. No injuries or arrests.

Harry J. Bedwell, 57, Greene county assessor and former county auditor, died suddenly at his home in Linton. He was born Feb. 16, 1908, active in Democrat politics, and served two terms as county auditor before becoming assessor. Survived by wife Pauline Richards Bedwell, four children, two granddaughters, and a sister. Funeral Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Welch and Cornett Funeral Home, burial in Fairview cemetery.

Pioneer 6 spacecraft has reached 503,843 miles from Earth on its solar mission. Accident Victim Leaves Hospital in Bloomfield
Lisa Waskom, four year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Larry Waskom of Bloomfield, is recovering after a Thursday night shooting accident at her home. A .22 rifle discharged by her 11 year old brother Richard, striking her jaw bone, prompted her hospitalization at Freeman Greene County Hospital where she was treated and discharged.
