Knox county's sweet potato crop is a growing industry worth over 500000 to farmers this year. Officials predict the business could yield about a million dollars annually within three years as storage plants near Decker expand capacity. Cost to grow is low, about 50 dollars an acre, with prices averaging two dollars a bushel and select Decker tubers bringing higher returns.
