Two weekend collisions were reported near Worthington. Ernesto Bixler 46 of Linton crossed the center line on Highway 57 and crashed with Marilyn Mercer 20 of Gosport. Bixler was fined 62.50 and fined for left of center and DUI with about 700 in damages. No injuries. In a second crash Robert H Aherns 37 Evansville slowed for a truck at Eel River Bridge. John L Mins 50 Evansville rear hit Aherns. truck driver William Donaghue Jr 25 Maimie Ill was cited for left of center and Mins for following too closely with about 575 in damages. No injuries.

No Damage in Local Fire at Main and A Streets
Faulty wiring on the building exterior at Main and A Streets in downtown Linton caused a bright arc light fire Saturday at 4 30 p m. Old wiring for traffic lights contacted itself and the Linton Fire Department responders shut the wires. Traffic signals were dark for about 30 minutes as the Linton Light Department made emergency repairs. The switch box sat on the ABC Gas and Electric Co building southwest corner. No damage reported.

Oolitic Man Killed in County Mishap Saturday
Gordon C. Spears, 48, of Oolitic died Saturday at 10:25 a.m. when a car driven by his daughter struck a house 2.4 miles east of Bloomfield on highway 54. He suffered a skull fracture and multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
