Suspect Sought in Slaying of Ella Wolka at Starve Hollow
In Brownstown Indiana authorities hunted a missing suspect in the Starve Hollow killing of Ella Wolka 75 found smothered in her converted log home during an apparent robbery attempt. Police said no major clues point to a specific person though they are searching for a suspect. Miss Wolka was buried in Wallonia Cemetery after services as police guarded the home and neighbors crowded the scene.

Richard J. Baker 83 of Linton died at 5:15 p.m. Saturday in an Evansville hospital after illness since August 3. Born April 15, 1872 in Scotland, he lived in Linton 65 years, worked in local coal mines, and belonged to the Linton Red Men's lodge and United Mine Workers Local 7489. He is survived by his widow Vina and four daughters, ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, plus one brother and three sisters. Funeral services are Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Welch and Cornett Funeral Home, with burial in Fairview Cemetery.

Henry A. Kramer Dies Suddenly Rural Carrier in Linton
Henry A. Kramer, longtime Linton rural mail carrier, died of a heart attack Friday evening at the Nolting Brothers farm northeast of Linton. He was 42 years a veteran in the service and a WWI veteran. Survived by widow Florence Dixon Kramer, two daughters Louise Lundy and Dorothy Ann Samuelson, two sons Robert Allen Kramer and Charles Kramer, two brothers Albert and Oscar, one sister Ann Stoeckel, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services conducted at Welch and Cornett Funeral Home with Rev. Harry Bredeweg officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery. He was active in Saron Evangelical and Reformed Church and led the church centennial program last year. He had served as president of the Rural Mail Carriers Indiana Seventh District. Married Nov. 7, 1918.
