Glenburn Aid Society holds a regular session Wednesday. Christian Ladies Aid gathers at 7 for Gray meeting. Royal Neighbors convenes at 7:50 p.m. at the Baptist church. Unity Lodge No. 687 meets at the hall at 7:30 p.m. Elks Lodge hosts at home at 8 p.m. Eagles Lodge assembles at the hall at 7 p.m.
Thursday M E choir practice at the church by 7 30 p m. Special service at Salvation Army hall led by Mrs J Shanklin. Christian choir practice at the church at 7 15 p m. American Legion Post meeting at home by 7 30 p m. Hiawatha club will meet all day at Red Men hall.
Friday events include Quapaw Tribe No. 143 Improved Order of Red Men meeting at 7 p.m. at Baptist church with choir practice at 7:15 p.m. Personal notes report Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Ladson and their children leaving for a vacation in Oklahoma, Rev. L. G. Moore of Garrett visiting friends, and Mr. and Mrs. Hf N. Perre and Sion Howell from Nashville returning home after visiting Mrs. G. W. Clayton and Miss Mary Lee Cardwell.

Hollywood gossip notes Adolph Menjou once worked as a farmhand at Rheindeck New York before entering cinema. He describes pressed overalls and glittering shoes, then shifts to acting in vaudeville and Vitagraph. He claims to have helped pioneer talking pictures in French and produced works in Spanish German and Italian.
Rev M W Foster of Linton Christian church to officiate at 3 p m Sunday services in Spencer for George Edwards an Owen county resident and longtime timber businessman and Spencer Christian church member noted for his prior pastorate tenure.

Barbara Elaine Robison's birthday party hosted by Mr and Mrs Creel Robison featured prize awards to Mildred Bennett Kenneth Kindall and Rita Rogers. Guests included Vine ogene Poiniers of Indianapolis Maxine Thayer Norvetta Weaver Theresa Currans and many others as Barbara received numerous gifts. A second note describes a farewell at Elmer Taylors home honoring David Vaughn and Floyd Vaughn with several family and friends in attendance.

Mr and Mrs Joel White and son Jackie of Owensburg visited Mrs C W Clayton in this city Friday. Mrs Gertie Shoenfeld of Chicago will arrive Sunday to visit Miss Mary L Cardwell. Miss Anetta Heaton and Miss Laurie Baugh with Mr and Mrs Joe Henrico have returned home after a week vacation on White River.
Mrs Iva Heaton of this city spent Thursday with her parents Mr and Mrs George Sidebottom in Sullivan My Mrs Olen Sheppherd of Pontiac Mich who have been visiting with Mrs Sheppherds relatives Mr and Mrs Herschel Stormes and children of Sassafrass community left yesterday for St Louis Mo to visit with friends before returning home
A limestone cave beneath a busy Knoxville street caved in causing an automobile to plunge in. A derrick hauled it out from a crater over 25 feet deep and 45 feet wide. The cave extended five feet wide and four feet high for miles under the city, likely triggered by a broken water main.
Anne Shirley stars in M Liss at the Grand, a photoplay of Brete Hart’s California mining town tale with John Beal as lead. Other cast members include Guy Kibbee Douglas Dumbrille and Barbara Pepper. Also showing tomorrow is Public Enemy’s Wife featuring Pat O’Brien Margaret Lindsay Robert Armstrong Caesar Romero and Dick Ioran in a G man thriller with romance and intrigue.
The Sky Parade, based on The Air Adventures of Jimmy Allen, debuts tomorrow afternoon at the Sher-Rity. Jimmy Allen, the radio hero, stars in his first film performance, demonstrating real acting talent and sincerity. Supporting cast includes William Gargan, Katherine DeMille, Billy Lee, and Grant Whiters, who elevate the production and highlight Jimmie’s top billing.
Mrs John Hastings of South Franklin Bloomfield is reported to be seriously ill at her home on South Franklin Street in Bloomfield.
