Jealous suitor Bauer case linked to Chicago death
New photos show Bauer and bride Myndeville Zenge 26 Canton Missouri sought as the jealous suitor in the mutilation and death of Cleveland osteopath Dr Walter J Bauer abducted from Ann Arbor Michigan and brought to Chicago where a penknife wound caused fatal blood loss. Mrs Louise Schaifer Bauer from Kirksville Missouri identified the body and said Zenge was a childhood sweetheart. Zenge is believed to have died by suicide jumping from the Navy pier in Chicago after the alleged crime.

Legion Music Festival Parade in Indianapolis Aug 25 26
The American Legion convention in Indianapolis hosts a grand parade with 80 to 100 drum and bugle corps and several bands marching from Monument circle along Meridian Street. Bands include army ROTC and a Madden-Nottingsham junior band. Gruesome lynching follows chief’s grave pledge at dawn
At an Aug. 3 dawn, a mob near Yreka California hanged Clyde I. Johnson, 24, of San Jose, after he confessed to killing Police Chief Irank R. Daw of Dunsmuir. The lynching came as masked men searched for Johnson’s ally Robert Miller, who escaped. The mob then stormed the county jail to seize Johnson.
