Mrs. Viola Emerson 77 Dies at Dugger Rural Home
Mrs. Viola Emerson aged 77 died at 9 30 am Thursday at her home near Gamphills Corner on Dugger rural route after a period of failing health. Born January 11 1869 in Greene county she lived much of her life in Sullivan county in Gambill and Pleasantville areas. She is survived by two sons Gleden Emerson and Wayne Emerson of Flint Michigan two daughters Mrs Ethel Goodman and Mrs Callie Reed of Linton seven grandchildren. Funeral arrangements have Newkirk Funeral Home Pleasantville and burial will be in Dugger cemetery.

Dogs Not Watered Man Will Be Tried
Ross Cramer of Hanover Pennsylvania faced cruelty to animals charges in Indianapolis after allegedly hauling 56 dogs without food or water from Pennsylvania to Indiana. A closed truck broke down on the city outskirts forcing humane officers to shoot one dog and three others near death. Five cottages planned for Glenburn Mission area
Deaconess Nola D. Yoder reports five new cottages will be built near Glenburn Mission using material from Shakamak state park. Elders will be tenants with two 20 by 20 ft and three 15 by 20 ft cottages, each with lavatory, sink and gas heat.
