The church trustees nearly reached a sale for the Hunt residence adjoining the south church property at about $2,650. The eight room Main Street home will be remodeled to be modern. Pastor Rev. Corts and family will move in, while the current rear residence on C Street Northwest becomes a gymnasium and Sunday school room for church use.
City churches schedule a full week of activities at the church of the glad hand. Fred Loos and Herbert Shepard were convicted in Greene circuit court yesterday of stealing an automobile belonging to Wesley Steele near Vicksburg. They were sentenced to one year at the state penal farm, fined $40, and disfranchised for ten years. The pair were arrested in Clinton weeks ago while trying to dispose of the car and brought to Bloomington for jail before trial.
The Grand hosts a special attraction with violinist Earling Sodahi of Duluth, praised by Northwest critics.
