Primary election boards named for city wards May 3

City council appoints election boards for three wards two weeks before the municipal primary. Voting places designated as Parks blacksmith shop First Ward Mrs Slinkard residence Second Ward and City hall Third Ward. Indiana Power Company proposes supplying current at 1.0 cents per kilowatt hour. Council to decide on outside power while City retains ownership of lines and franchises.

Washington officials say the United States will not tolerate renewed hostilities between Panama and Costa Rica over the boundary dispute. Panama reportedly mobilizes for defense while Costa Rica takes a belligerent stance with possible support from El Salvador Honduras and Guatemala. Demonstrator killed by own coal mine machine at Petersburg

C R Warren 28 of Columbus Ohio, a Jeffries Manufacturing demonstrator, died instantly at Simplex coal mine one mile north of Petersburg Ind while testing a new cutting and loading machine. He started the machine and stood on slack when his overalls sleeve caught on a knife and pulled him into the machinery. Widow survives. body to be returned to Columbus for burial.

Metropolitan Lodge Meeting At Crescent Visitors

Metropolitan Lodge No. 193, K of P, held a fine meeting with unusually large local attendance and guests from Crescent lodge at Dugger. The third rank issued one candidate and three membership applications were received. After the work lunch was served.
