Switch to be Abandoned After Years of Service
The public service commission recommended to the interstate commerce commission discontinuance of the Pennsylvania railroad coal branch between the Superior branch and Dugger. The old Vandalia No. 10 mine, once a major employer, had become costly to operate as easily found coal was exhausted, and the switch about a mile long is no longer needed.
