Two children perished in a house fire started by kerosene. Mrs Sprout had poured kerosene, the resulting explosion set her clothing ablaze. An onlooker, Mr Blann of Oaktown, smothered the flames with his coat as nearby pedestrians watched. The house burned with its contents. the victims could not be saved. Mrs Sprout was reported improving days later.
The post office at Linton reports several uncalled letters including J. W. Gambill, Mrs. Nancy Workman, James Henry Norton, Mrs. Mary Johnson, Mrs. Shirley Skene, P. R. Cosgray, Cecil Comstock, Mrs. Lizzie Breck, H. D. Hudson, and Dora Dunlap. Local patrons may claim at window with proper ID.
The notice lists Sarrah Jones Mrs Minnie Goodman Mrs Alva Bedwell and Fred Kennison as recipients required to respond to advertised letters. It states all advertised letters are due one cent and is signed by Homer Hart, Postmaster.
Washington April 8. Winter wheat about 14 million bushels smaller and rye about 12 million bushels larger than last year, per the agriculture department's first season estimate based on April 1 conditions. Winter wheat 78.4 percent of normal, rye 89. State figures. Moose dance tonight. Good music.

Ervin Ray Washington for Sheriff Democratic. Aden Steele Richland Township for Sheriff Democratic. A G Doc Neal Grant Township for Sheriff Democratic. The notices specify party primaries and May 2 1922.

Sherwood of Stockton seeks re nomination for Greene county state legislature seat, subject to Republican voters. George E. May of Stockton Township is a candidate for state legislature, subject to primary decision by Republican voters on Tuesday May 2 1922.
Joe M Goodman announces as a candidate for Township Assessor in Stockton Township subject to the decision of the Democratic voters at the primary election to be held on Tuesday.
J H Harve Mallicoat and James W Page announce their candidacy for Assessor of Stockton township. Both enter the race subject to Democratic voters at the primary election on May 2, 1922. The result depends on party voters’ choice in the township.
The notice lists George H Shields of Richland township and William E Buckner of Jackson township as candidates for county assessor, each subject to their party's primary on May 2.
