As workers tore down the Old St. Xavier Catholic Church on Sycamore Street this morning the 30 foot high wall fell burying 18 to 20 laborers. By 10 o'clock ten bodies were recovered. The incident stemmed from undermining a wall to raise a new structure. rain yesterday weakened the foundation and the wall toppled as it loosened this morning. One escaped. thirteen died and another mortally wounded.
