Man Kills Three Women in Fairmont Hotel

A 32 year old glass worker nick Lacamera killed three women in a downtown Fairmont hotel. The victims were Yanus Dudley 50 Mary Sue Brown 26 and Lucille Limer 30. He carried a pistol for days and threatened to harm those who gossiped about him. Police detained him after he said I cant remember anything. The acting coroner ordered held for further investigation.

Jonas declines House race after nomination

Chas A Jonas, nominated for the House at the May 2 Republican Convention, refused to file his name with the elections board. The county executive committee then named Rev. L A McClure of East Lincoln to run in his place. Jonas previously served as minority leader and NC Republican committeeman.

Mrs Betty G McKinis, widow of J Frank McKinis, died Sunday afternoon at her Lincolnton home after a period of illness. Survived by sister Mrs Noah P Williams of Lincolnton and brother S A Gooden of Miami. Funeral at Macedonia Baptist Church Tuesday at 11 with interment beside her husband.

Lightning Strikes Church and Barns in Scotland County

Lightning tore through the region causing total destruction of Johns Methodist Church in south Scotland County with an estimated value of 15 000 dollars. 56 Candidates Seek County Office in Lincoln This Year

Fifty six candidates filed with the county election board by the deadline for the November ballot. Republican nominees were chosen May 2. Democrats will nominate June 6. Two Negroes Die in State Chair

Raleigh May 9 German Williams 25 and Lawrence Dingle 32 Negroes were electrocuted at State Prison for the Forsyth County robbery and murder of John Gant. Williams died after two shocks totaling 3 minutes 43 seconds at 10 46. Dingle died after one 2 minute 30 second shock at 11 02.
