Drunken driving arrests rise for July in Raleigh area

Mrs Tenia Sophronia Reynolds wife of W L Reynolds well known farmer of the Little Mountain section of Lincoln county died Sunday after several months illness. Born January 1 1862 in Lincoln county she lived in the community most of her life. Survived by husband eight children and twenty six grandchildren. Funeral from Lebanon Methodist church Tuesday at 11 conducted by Rev M A Osborne and Rev R L Forbis with interment in church cemetery. Grandchildren and flower bearers served as pallbearers.

Sam Owen Jr. of Bassett Ark survived after surgeons saved him with a transfusion of his own blood. An accidental shooting at play left a bullet through his body and internal bleeding, but blood collected from him was reinjected into his veins and credited with saving his life.

Mrs Mary Catherine Black wife of John F Black died Thursday August 6 at her home near Cherryville. She was 85 and the daughter of Levi and Margaret Heavner. Married November 23 1873 she bore twelve children. Survived by husband two sons A D Black and Lee Black two daughters Mrs Oliver McSwain and Mrs Ruffin White one sister Miss Annie Heavner all of Cherryville nineteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She joined Mt Zion Baptist church at 18 and remained a faithful member until death.
