Lime Springs Pool Opens Daily With Summer Classes

The Lime Springs Swimming Pool is operating daily as warm weather returns with big patronage. Swim lessons began last Thursday on a three days a week schedule, with classes for beginners intermediates and swimmers plus junior and senior life saving. Open July 4th but closed July 6th due to the holiday. Pool hours are 2 to 5 pm and 7 30 to 9 pm. Volunteers are wanted to help with clothes baskets at the pool concession stand to assist during opening times.

Mrs H Schoppers dies in Harmony Hospital

Mrs Henry Schoppers died at 6 o clock Tuesday June 21 in Harmony hospital. Funeral held Friday at 2 pm Rev W Kolenbrand er of Middleburg Iowa oversaw services with Greenleafton Quartet and organist Mrs Vernon Miller. Pallbearers listed. interment at Greenleafton Cemetery. Surviving husband one daughter Loren Hebrink Cresco four sons Harry Marvin Clarence Greenleafton and Herbert Spring Valley. 22 grandchildren seven great grandchildren.

Fish Fry Planned for Lime Springs Pool Benefit

A fish fry is planned for Wednesday July 13 to raise funds for the Lime Springs Swimming Pool. Local volunteers organize the event with proceeds going toward pool improvement and operation costs.

Farmers Coop Feed Takes Over Chester Elevator Friday

The Farmers Coop Feed Co will take possession of the former Rendahl and Higham Grain Elevator at Chester on Friday July 1 and be open for business on and after that date. It will handle feeds seeds and fertilizer buy and sell grains. Dale Eggerichs will remain as resident manager at Chester.

Awards Made to Cub Scouts Sunday

Lime Springs Cub Pack held awards at the ball park after a Lime Springs loss to Cresco Cub Scouts. Pop was served to both packs. A return game at Cresco is set for 6 15 p m Thursday. New Addition at St Paul Lutheran Church Delayed

The St Paul Lutheran Church progresses on a 16 by 30 foot two story addition that will raise seating to 365. The $12,000 project adds cloakrooms stairways and two Sunday School classrooms with a full basement for storage and restrooms. Rev H H Adix notes completion is this summer and the main building dating to 1836 remains a cornerstone with 225 members in the congregation.
