Alice Goodman and Theo Dieken wed at the Latte Brown Church in Nashua Iowa with the Rev Hans com officiating. The bride wore white with brown accessories and was attended by Beth Ludens as bridesmaid. Corwin Goodman served as best man. The couple plans to live on the Dieken farm near Lime Springs after a reception at the bride’s home for immediate family.

Methodists to Conduct An Every Member Canvass

The Offeral Board of Lime Springs Methodist Church voted to launch an Every Member Financial Canvass aimed at pledges for the 1950 1951 church year. July 2 was set as the Sunday to receive pledges during the 11:00 worship. Rev Leroy E Hauman will preach We Are Stewards Together. Members will sign pledge cards at worship and be visited at home if they do not pledge. A budget letter will be sent to all members this week.

Rev Bauman Reappointed To Methodist Charges Here

Rev Lenny E. Bauman, minister of the Lime Springs and Chester Methodist Churches, was reappointed to serve those churches for another year by Bishop Chas Wi Brashares at the closing session of the North Iowa Annual Conference in Fort Dodge. Lamont Smith was appointed to the Toledo-Toledo Circuit. Chaplain Clarence Oelfke spoke on Army chaplain issues. Dr and Mrs Charles Stoakes attended. Friendship Haven was used to house delegates. Rev Bauman sponsored Rev Robert Moss of Plainfield for ordination. Next year’s conference site will be Grace Methodist, Waterloo. The story hour and new State Traveling Library books were noted for local readers.

Westphal birth announced at Cresco Hospital

An 8 pound son was born Sunday, June 25, at Cresco Hospital to Mr and Mrs Merton Westdhal of Chester. The mother is the former Wilma Tibbals. Mrs Harry Van Dyke of Saint Paul and Lynn Chapman of Duluth, Minn. spent the weekend at the Van Dyke home.
