Lime Springs Barbecue Festival Draws Big Crowd Expectation
Lime Springs prepares for a Recreation Benefit Celebration featuring a barbecue dinner, rides, band concert, bingo, and a dance next Monday. The chicken dinner runs 4 to 9 p.m. with a 1.25 dollar adult price and 75 cents for children. Prizes totaling 1200 dollars include a refrigerator freezer, a 19 inch TV, a stereo, and more. Drawings occur at the evening dance with no need to be present to win.

Biblical Gardens at Wisconsin Dells Show Jesus Life in 12 Sculpted Scenes
Eva Gragert Newsom, artist, created Biblical Gardens two and a half miles south of Wisconsin Dells. The canyon site features twelve lifelike sculptures of Jesus life from Nativity to the tomb, each scene accompanied by scripture scrolls and shepherd guides. The works are formed in clay molds then cast in concrete and fiberglass, with painted details and natural surroundings.

Cresco based Tube and Shutter Amateur Radio Club invites the public to Field Day June 23-24 at the Kiwanis cabin two miles south of Cresco. Amateurs from the United States and Canada will test emergency message handling for police Red Cross and civil defense while three stations operate for twenty four hours starting 3 p m Saturday. Participants include Francis Weatherford Willard Peterson Ben Helmer D O Maland Paul Larson Huh Kuhn Ernest Walter David Woods Jim Kuhn Dennis Kaletks Tom Chandler Dick Kleppe Wi Wangsness Clifford Chase Decorah Stan Johnson Ridgeway and others. The event marks the club’s fifth year in the drill following last year’s 360 contacts and will be viewable to the public from Saturday afternoon through Sunday.
