Partial release of corn under warehouse certificate urged

Farm Bureau and AAA report new Commodity Credit Corporation rule allowing drought stricken farmers to obtain a partial release of stored corn from a single warehouse certificate. A remittance of 17 cents per bushel covers the estimated principal, interest, and insurance for the removed amount, with supervision for sealing and resealing. Available in Illinois to Kansas, the policy applies to any borrower who can repay at 47 cents per bushel, and may be arranged before maturity.

Bowers Slated to Lose Job in Commission Shakeup

Miss Dorothy Kapka Weds Roy Grace in Illinois Church

A pretty early afternoon ceremony united Miss Dorothy Kapka of Lime Springs and Mr. Roy Grace of McIntire in marriage at the Methodist Episcopal Church on Thursday June 14 at 11 o'clock. Rev Richard Prescott officiated as family and neighbors witnessed the vows, with Elva Kapka singing and Vera Prescott playing. The bride wore a gypsy blue travel dress with pink roses. maid of honor Elva Kapka wore canary yellow lace and Witam Souhrada served as best man. A reception followed at the bride's parents' home, then the couple left for a lakes and St Paul visit before settling in McIntire. Miss Lauraine Miles of Saratoga hired to teach the seventh and eighth grades in Lime Springs schools next year. She previously taught at a rural school near Riceve and comes with strong recommendations. She holds a four year college degree.

Mrs Griffith Roberts Dies After Illness at Home

A funeral notice details the death of Mrs. Griffith Roberts at 6 30 am on June 14 near Lime Springs. Born November 17 1883 she lived in Saratoga and Lime Springs, married Griffith Roberts in 1915 and left two sons Gwilym T and Thomas G. She was active in Welsh Presbyterian Church and missionary circles. The tribute honors her as a community backbone and expresses sympathy to her husband and family.

Local Man to Open Chiropractic Office in Lime Springs

Louis A. Bastian announces plans to open a chiropractic office at his Lime Springs residence and to be available at all times. After two years at National College of Chiropractic in Chicago he did six months internship at Chicago General Health Hospital. He aided his brother Dr Co L Bastian in Madison SD and graduated from Lime Springs High School in 1930, with one year at Iowa State Teachers College. He is regarded as one of the town’s best young men.
