Wedding at St Paul Lutheran Church Lime Springs

A candlelight ceremony at St Paul Lutheran Church in Lime Springs Iowa united Miss Marceil Maronde and Mr Connor Galvin in marriage Rev H H Adix officiated The couple will reside in San Diego California where Connor serves in the Navy The bridal party included Miss Judy Lloyd maid of honor and bridesmaids Sharla Galvin Lola Maronde Peggy Lammers The reception followed for about 200 guests with many local relatives attending including out of town visitors from Waterloo Dysart Cresco and Traer The bride wore Belgian shiffley embroidery and a fingertip veil bridesmaids in Ice blue crystallette attended with blush veils Reception duties were shared by several hosts and hostesses The couple plans to honeymoon and then settle in California The article also notes local business developments and a new plumbing heating venture by Don Schaffer of Mason City in Lime Springs and a nearby recreation area at Old Town with added picnic facilities and a boat dock

The St Paul Lutheran Church observed a confirmation Sunday for 16 children averaging 14 years old after 200 hours of Bible study with pastor H. H. Adix. The rite marked full membership and the first reception of Holy Communion for the group and some parents and sponsors. Grace Ludens and Eugene Van Wyk Wed at Greenleaf ton

Grace Ludens of Lime Springs and Eugene V. Van Wyk of Orange City were married Friday June 7 at 2 p m in the Greenleaf ton Reformed Church. The ceremony featured coral and white decor with candlebra and gladioli, and a lace and tulle gown with a white orchid bouquet. The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Henry Ludens. the groom is the son of Mr and Mrs H L Van Wyk. After a wedding trip they will live on a farm near Orange City.

Saint Lucas Girls Defeat Lime Springs in Softball

Lime Springs led 2-0 through two innings before Saint Lucas tied the game and surged ahead in the sixth. Final 13-4 as Saint Lucas hitters broke through. Lime Springs had two hits to St. Lucas four. Winning pitcher Kenner allowed 8 walks and 8 strikeouts, while Judy Lloyd took the loss with 13 walks.

Williams Seagren wedding at Lime Springs church

Marian Kay Williams and Richard Allen Seagren wed in a double ring ceremony at Westminster Presbyterian Church Lime Springs Iowa on June 16 1957. Rochester hospital honors 43 long term staff

Mrs E E Lundquist of Rochester Minnesota a 30 year veteran and graduate psychiatric nurse was among 43 long term employees honored June 4 at a party in observance of Public Servants Week The group had totaled 1358 years of service and about 120 people attended at the hospital Activities Center.

Legion Auxiliary Tea Honors Gold Star Mothers

The American Legion Auxiliary held a tea on Monday afternoon June 17 to honor gold star mothers of the unit. Mrs Marion Barclay chaired the event and led a musical program featuring many children and young people. Gifts were presented to the mothers by junior members while Mrs Charles Pish spoke on behalf of the group. Refreshments were served from a decorated table with Mrs Arlow Johnson pouring and the food supplied by Mrs Carl Cassidy and committee.
