Petition of Intervention Joins School Rd Suit Against Supt Baker
A petition of intervention filed June 10 joins with the Howard Winneshiek Community School District in its suit against Superintendent Russell J Baker. About 260 petitioners from Lime Springs and Chester, represented by Donohue Wilkins & Donohue, seek a declaratory judgment that Baker's contract is not binding. The action accompanies a counterclaim by Baker, amended June 12 to include the intervention. The case questions the contract’s validity and whether efforts to avoid disclosure and a jury trial are proper. Judge visits Cresco June 24 and July 15 29 and August 12 26, with a maximum delay to October possible.
