Truman Attacks on Nonpolitical Trip Slamed as Junket
Washington June 17 1948 a syndicated column argues President Truman used his campaign tour to push a political agenda criticizing his honesty and the 16car presidential train. The piece likens his trip to a political stunt and accuses him of misusing public funds and downplays accusations against the Roosevelt era. It discusses European Recovery Program funding, Congress adjournment, and labor disputes amid a broader critique of Truman and national politics.
