Breakfast closes J. C. Club year with plans ahead

The J. C. Club held its year end breakfast at Nettie Parry’s home with eleven members attending. Treasurer Jessie Taraldson and officers were elected for the new term starting November first, including Madge Jones as president Pauline Roberts as vice president Grace Anderson as secretary Ruth Thomas as species officer.

Chevrolet Set to Launch Campaign Amid Strong May Car Sales

Chevrolet dealers reported 48 418 new passenger cars and trucks sold in May near domestic production. In the first ten days 13 870 units. in the second period 16 227. last period 12 1 new cars and trucks. W S Knudsen said the rising curve signals hopeful June, noting Chevrolet aims for more than two million owners of low priced cars in need of replacement. He connected industry growth to tax policy and budget balancing debates in Congress.

Farm Bureau activities and Turner's address in Howard County

About three thousand people attended a county-wide meeting featuring Governor Turner on Saturday June 11. Elmer Johnson urged organized efforts, while 4-H clubs and local groups earned parade awards. Wool pool plans were announced for June 17 and 18 with wool sacks ready at pooling points amid a sagging wool market.

David W Graham Dies in Huron South Dakota

David W Graham former Lime Springs resident died at his home in Huron South Dakota on Sunday June 12 1923. His body with his brother Wil arrived Lime Springs by 1 20 pm train Tuesday and burial followed in Pleasant Valley cemetery. Services were held in a new tent purchased by Mr Larson with quartet numbers by Vander Ble Johnson Buchanan and Williams. Interment was in the family lot. He was born in Mercer Pennsylvania son of Mr and Mrs James Graham and had lived in Huron for 17 years age 63 years 4 months 16 days. A number of relatives and friends attended the funeral including his brother Wil of Wells Minnesota.

Presbyterian Synod Meeting to be Held in Lime Springs

The Minnesota Presbyterian Synod Welsh division will meet in Lime Springs June 17 to 19 with twenty two churches composing the body. Officers include Moderator Rev Jon Williams Treasurer Morris I Jones Stated Clerk Rev R Lewis Jones. Delegates will discuss church business and Welsh services are scheduled including sermons by Rev Williams and Rev Rowlands of New Ulm. A fellowship service and youth discussion are planned with Missionary Society events and multiple English and Welsh services on Sunday. The text also notes rally practice and club meetings in nearby areas and a forthcoming district gathering.

Alice Searles Searched By Death in Lime Springs

The community mourns Mrs. Alice M. Searles who died Monday at her Lime Springs home at 61. Born April 22, 1871 she lived most of her life here and worked to help the church and neighbors. Survived by two daughters and two granddaughters, funeral at the Methodist Church with interment in Pleasant Hill cemetery.
