Swimming Lessons Program Starting Next Week at Lime Springs Pool
The Lime Springs Pool booked its best day of the 1961 season with 152 swimmers on Sunday. A free swim invitation goes to area Vacation Bible Schools this Friday 10:30 to 11:30 on closing day. For safety under 5s must be with an adult, and a mothers club to watch the middle pool is advised. Enroll now for 12 sessions at 1.50 with morning times at Riceville McIntire and Lime Springs listed. The pool will be closed Friday June 23 for a Donkey Ball game.

Don Gray Accepts Monona Tel Position
Don Gray the Lime Springs Telephone Co. local manager accepts a new post as manager of the Luana Monona Farmers Telephone Co. in Monona Iowa. He has bought a home there and the Gray family will move in late June after seven years of service locally. He is active in school church scouts and civic affairs and will be missed by residents and other Lime Springs service areas.

No Decision On Another School Vote Reached By Board
The How-Winn Community School District Board of Education met Monday and did not decide on another election regarding school buildings. The meeting also included hiring one teacher and selling a rural school. Elsie Mae Anderson of Rushford, Minn., teaching at Chatfield for five years, was given a contract to teach second grade at Ridgeway. Les Beele bought the rural school and adjacent land for 325 dollars near his New Orleans Two farm.

Choir of 64 Voices Rehearsing for the Reunion
A Lime Springs High School reunion and homecoming events July 1 to 4 raise the local choir’s profile as 64 voices rehearse under Anna Mae Davis with Abner Buresh at piano and Mrs. Wendell Vander Die as president. Shoots Mess of Carp With Arrows
Dale Reis, kneeling with bow, and his son Larry, posed after an early Sunday morning bow and arrow fishing jaunt. More than 30 carp up to 10 pounds were shot from the river bank near the dam, using a single arrow that broke when it split two fish. Rain the night before made the carp surface easy to see and shoot.
