Mr and Mrs Eddie Hovey Onserve 25th Anniversary

About 100 relatives and friends gathered at the Hoveys’ home in Lime Springs to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with a dinner. Rev Elmer H Dahle gave a speech and presented a lov ly racket and silver. An afternoon program featured Magee and signs, and photos of the wedding cake were taken before serving.

Grass silage field day program at Howard County Experimental Farm on Friday June 16 features demonstrations of field choppers siloing equipment and several makes of fodder cutters. Munkel and Hall Injured In Scaffold Fall Near Chester

Walter Munkel and Verlie Hall were injured when a scaffolding plank broke Monday morning. They fell 12 feet at the Henry Granahan arm southwest of Chester while shingling corners. Roth suffered back fractures and were to be cast at Cedar Valley Hospital in Charles City. Lawrence and Irvin Munkel escaped with minor injuries. all were rushed to Charles City by Weaver ambulance.

Graduation Services for Methodist Bible Schools

Graduation services for members of the Daily Vacation Bible Schools will be held Thursday at 7 30 in Lime Springs Methodist Church and at 8 00 Friday night in Chester Methodist Church. Over 100 teachers and pupils attended the two schools in Chester and Lime Springs over the past two weeks with class and crafts displays and diploma awards. Youngest Waterloo Derby Winner Is 11 Year Old Fisherman

In Waterloo Sunday the Fishing Derby crowned 11 year old champ Tommy Payton, son of Victor Paston and Eleanor Dunlap. He won first prize in his division, a red wagon, marking him as the youngest winner and standout performer of the day.
