Install includes lock boxes formica counters labeled mail deposit boxes and a glass partition separating lobby from money order area. Verna McCaustland Bride of Paul Lewison in Ceremony

Verna McCaustland of Lime Springs married Paul A Lewison of New Hampton in a 3 pm Sunday ceremony at the Lime Springs Methodist Church. The service featured Rev H C Shaffer and Rev H A Pearson, with organist Mrs Abner Buresh and vocalist Alan Hagen. The bride wore a waltz length embroidered gown, Juliet cap, and pearl jewelry. attendants wore white frosted velcray gowns with pink sashes. Reception for 200 followed. couple to residence in Greene, Iowa where both teach. Out-of-town guests came from multiple Iowa towns and nearby states.

Big Northern Pike Hunt Returns From La Ronge Trip

A seven member party led by Glen Aspinwall and Roland Davis returns from a week in La Ronge Sask Canada with about 600 pounds of fish. Northerns 10 to 20 pounds and walleyes up to six pounds were kept. They flew in two De Havilland Beavers over a 1400 mile route via Moorhead Fargo Dunseith Brandon Regine Prince Albert. Fishing started Monday afternoon and lasted five days with ice-out just days before.

Frank H Thomas 79 Dies in Tacoma Washington

Frank H Thomas 79 of 1312 No 10th St Tacoma Wash died June 7 1957 in Tacoma He was born July 21 1877 in Ixlonia Center Wis He lived north of Bonair Iowa attended stone school house He married Winnie Belle Evans in 1899 farmed Foreston area before moving West Survivors include his wife a daughter Miss Mable Lenore Thomas of Tacoma and one brother George H Thomas of Minneapolis Interment was in Tacoma. He was a first cousin of Mrs Hannah Phillips of Bonair and a second cousin of Mrs Burton Morgan Mrs Thomas is a first cousin of W E Davis and has other distant relatives here.

Hane Completes Week at NATS Camping School

Barry Mane spent a week at National Camping School in Ozawkie Kansas earning a Scoutcraft Activities certificate and a National Camping School patch. Temperatures reached 100 with sun until heavy rain Friday causing flooded fields and roads. Larry Lime Springs Boy Scout Troop leader plans to guide final week at Camp Ingawanis near Waverly then Joint Jamboree duties at Valley Forge. David Mason named among Scouts attending the jamboree. Jay Rusthoven to be ordained at First Presbyterian Foley Minnesota June 16 at 8 pm with reception to follow.

Empress of Britain voyage diary from Luther College tour

They sail from Montreal May 28, glimpse Cape Race iceberg, whale and porpoise sightings, adjust to currency, languages, and meals, with services aboard and plans to dock in Liverpool Monday.

Large steel building rising on railroad property

A 50 by 160 foot steel frame structure with a 14 foot sidewall and 20 foot center height is being erected by A and E Feed Co of Lime Springs. The concrete footings and floor are being poured with Dee Bros of New Hampton as contractors Ray Calvin of Lime Springs is foreman. The facility will store government corn, with capacity over 100000 bushels, set back 30 feet from the sidewalk for parking, on a leased railroad site formerly used for a tennis court and roller rink.

Lime Springs Band Concerts Begin Weekly

The first Lime Springs Wednesday night street concert drew strong attendance and a fine performance. The summer municipal band, under Mrs Beulah Montgomery, will direct instrumental and vocal music at the Lime Springs School next term. A tea for Gold Star Mothers is set for Monday at 2 PM in the Legion Hall, with Mrs Betty Barclay leading the program.

Lutheran Bible School Closes After Ninth Annual Session

The Bt. Paul Wutheran Church closed its ninth annual Vacation Bible School last Friday. Teachers for the 87 two week session included Verna Atzen, Lou Ann Kapka, Carol Reinbold, Jean Nicoll, Patricia Thompson, Kenneth Buhr, Richard Amdt, Doris Lidtke, Herb Mohr, H. H. Adix, and the Pastor. The program covered nursery to confirmation with daily Bible lessons and crafts. Attendance averaged 80 since opening.
