Auto Accident on Highway West of Y
Two cars traveling opposite directions side swiped at the intersection on the highway about four miles west of the Y Monday afternoon around 2 o clock. Leo Stier of Grand Meadow was driving south while Colen M Brout of Waterloo headed north. L A Fries of Lime Springs pulled off the west on to the paving and in passing Fries s truck Stout side swiped the Stier car, veered into the ditch but did not overturn. Damages were noted on the Stier car s left front fender and wheel and on the left rear fender of the Stier car. The note adds a warning to boat vandals near Old Town of potential prosecutions.

Local Sportsmen's Club Gets Off to Fine Start

Tom Thorson Injured In Auto Accident Near Chester
Tom Thorson, middle aged, was struck by a car driven by James Klomp 20 while crossing a bridge west of Chester on the way to a baseball game. Thorson suffered a head gash and heavy bleeding, transported by ambulance to an Austin hospital and released to recover. Klomp, accompanied by Knute Hovey Jr, was arrested, charged with leaving the scene, posted $1000 bond, and a hearing is set for next Monday.
