Pumping of water into the new pool began Tuesday night with tests planned by a General Filter Co representative from Ames to ensure clear water and chlorination. Completion of bathhouse partitions and hot water system, lifeguard chairs, poolsides features, and parking are pending. Tornado hits two farms near Spillville causing extensive damage
A late Sunday tornado circle about two miles wide damaged the Orlando Albertson and Ray Numedahl farms near Spillville. Residents saw the funnel, no injuries or livestock deaths occurred, and the Numedahl home saw furniture and equipment blown about while the hog house, granary, and shed roofs were damaged. The Albertson home suffered a smoke-like aftereffect with a blown transformer and burned appliances.

Knapps Celebrate Golden Wedding Open House
Mir and Mrs F W Knapp of Lime Springs celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house Sunday June 19 at their Lime Springs home from 2 to 5 pm. Fred Wibur Knapp married Jane Buck in Fillmore County Minnesota on June 21 1903. They have seven grandchildren and three sons Ellis in Waterloo Iowa Clinton in Worthington Minnesota and Elwyn deceased. The Knapps lived on the family farm in Fillmore County until a decade ago then moved to Lime Springs. All friends are invited to call Sunday afternoon in observance of the golden anniversary.

Charles Edward Lemon 73 longtime Fillmore County resident died May 29 at the Lakefield home of his daughter Mrs Burton Fort. Born January 27 1882 in Bremer County Iowa he married Bertha Clary in 1904. Survived by four children and 12 grandchildren.
