Tollef Borgan Dies Suddenly at Home Here Sunday Morning
Tollef A Borgan 66 of Lime Springs died at about 5 o'clock Sunday morning at his home from a cerebral hemorrhage. He had not been well since a severe pneumonia four years earlier. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the home and at Saetersdal Lutheran Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery. He is survived by his wife and five children Olaf Foster Cole Hazel LaVonne and Gaylord. Pallbearers were Harry Terbeest Reuben Lange Sever Ivers Theodore Ivers Arne Pelland and Co W Sherwine.

Services Held For Mary Necas At St Stephen's
Funeral services were held Friday May 27 at St Stephen's Parish Chester Iowa for Mary M Necas 53 who died May 24 at Mercy hospital Cresco after a severe stroke. Father G F Hemesath supervised burial at National Bohemian Cemetery between Protivin and Spilsville Winneshiek County. She was born March 14 1896 in Skrdlovice Czechoslovakia and came to the United States in 1908. She married Frank Necas December 27 1913 at Newton Hampton Iowa and the couple farmed at Bassett and Elms Town before Lime Springs. Five children and five grandchildren survive along with six brothers and one sister.

Memorial Day tribute and art exhibit highlighted by Des Moines artist
Esther Williams of Des Moines, daughter of the Williamses of Lime Springs, showcased her paintings at Younkers room gallery in Des Moines May 2021. The exhibit covered cut and watercolor works. Williams discussed as a freelance artist in ceramics and book covers, with a notable watercolors tour and national recognition. A Memorial Day service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lime Springs featured the Lime Springs Band, a Glee Club, and address by Rev Leroy E Bauman. The ceremony included veterans’ rituals, prayers, and a color guard, with schoolchildren placing flowers on veteran graves and taps performed by student buglers.
