South Chester residents and relatives gathered for family events as Dennis Granahan and others attended funeral services for John O Brein in Winthrop. Visitors stop at Cresco, Maynard, Ottumwa and Osceola. birthdays and Canasta games mark community life in a week of visits, cards, and meals.
Davis Corners Larry Houdak spent days with his grandparents near Protivin. Lite Lynette Kutzback visited her grandmother Etna Prinz. Bethany Circle hosted by Mrs John Buhr and others Thursday. Ronald Ollendick with grandparents near Saratoga. Mrs Gus Riekmann described as very ill on the last trek. Eleanor Foote visited grandparents Wim Foote in Lime Springs. Viola Houdak called on Esther Buhr. Arnold Osenga at Simon Osenga home. School children enjoyed Christmas vacation and returned to class on Tuesday. Mrs John Buhrh visited her niece Mrs Floyd Senior Friday afternoon. Attendees from here at the funeral for Wm Stevenson Friday afternoon.
Foreston residents hosted and visited relatives and friends throughout the week. Mrs. Robert Jones and family hosted Griff Jones relatives. numerous dinners and overnights occurred with guests from Hanley Falls Waterloo Cresco and Des Moines among others.
Mrs. Herman Hronner and Bobby joined Miss Jennie Shugrue as week end guests of cousins Mr. and Mrs Fred Bocklund and family in Minneapolis. They also stayed Friday and Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs Hans Wilken.
Dr. Nelson of Harmony treated Evan Evans at his home Sunday evening where he remains bedbound with pneumonia. The community shares notes of visitors and family gatherings as Emerson Sikkink and others traveled to Minneapolis after Christmas.
Henry Nagel family visited the Marvin Shop pers home in Bristol on Wednesday evening, with a brief social gathering noted by local observers.
Mr and Mrs Will Shea Nels Larsen Mrs Roy Schmidt and Raylene and the twins were brief callers at Jens Schmidt s during the week Jens Schmidt had a wel come party Friday when Dale Pagner and his saw rig Roy and Henry Schmidt and WHI Shea helped drop in and sawed up wood piled up Mr and Mrs Joe Pinney Waterloo spent the week end in the John Meyer home Mr and Mrs Albert Larsen rejoice over a baby girl born at Cresco hospital on Dec 29 Mr and Airs Stanley Muronde Lola Nell and Mrs Mary Lammers spent Monday evening In Jens Schmidt home Luella Meyer returned to Cedar Falls for school after Christmas vacation Mrs Roy Schmidt spent Sunday forenoon with Mrs Jens Schmidt Randall was at Sunday School Mr and Mrs John Meyer and Luella spent Friday evening at the Larry Munkey home their wedding anniversary.
