Death of Jamestown farmer Henry Haviland Robinson

Henry Haviland Robinson of Jamestown township died Monday evening at 8230 o clock aged 48. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Larson funeral chapel Lime Springs with burial in Saratoga cemetery. He had married on a farm south of Lime Springs and moved last spring to Le Roy. He suffered rheumatism for years and was born in Denbigh North Wales. A shotgun accident on a tractor near La Porte City injured Lawrence Rathjen.

Masonic Awards and Officer Elections Reported

Snowfall Delays and City Snow Removal Efforts

Cresco to Build REA Plant. Youth Jobs Planned

Cresco prepares an REA building project with a $26,000 outlay on ground purchased east of the city, aided by $700 from local business leaders. Approval comes from the Rural Electrification Administration. Cresco is named among twelve Iowa towns receiving National Youth Administration projects. Frank H. Stritham buys Cresco photo studio from Mr. and Mrs. Converse after 18 years of operation. Enrollments Open for CCC Camps in Howard County

The CCC enrollment quota for January week one is ready. Boys aged 17 to 22 years 8 months, in good health, unemployed and seeking work, qualify for training in trades at CCC camps.
