Henry Atzen, over 90, is at his daughter Mrs Minnie Gooden's Baldwin Iowa home with a leg infection from a trimmed callous. Amputation may be needed. Weather in Review Coldest Night Since Winter Record

The coldest night this winter dropped to 10 below last Thursday. Warmer conditions followed Friday and a very mild Saturday for Santa Agus Day. Sunday was ideal and fair, while Tuesday night brought rain turning to ice, making treacherous highways and streets and causing heavy traffic delays in northern Iowa as we go to press.

Carolers to Tour Town and School Program

The Lime Springs Comets and McIntire Girls battled to a 34 34 tie on the McIntire court after a strong Lime Springs rally. Luella Meyers led Lime Springs with 16 points as the teams traded blows in a tight contest that saw a late rally force the stalemate.

Lime Springs Comets defeated McIntire 45 to 37 on Tuesday with Harley Van Pyke scoring 26 points to lead the winners while Milbrandt had 16 for the losers. Next game at Elma on Friday and home game against Ridgeway on December 23 at 7 30 p m both boys and girls teams.

Santa Claus visits Lime Springs once more with gifts

More than 400 children and their parents greeted Santa Claus in Lime Springs on Saturday as he arrived on the Barclay Standard Oil truck at the city limits. Santa, aided by Lime Springs Community Club members, handed out large bags of candy nuts and apples to the youngsters while he met with the crowd.

Youth Hear Messiah Sung at Luther College

A dozen Methodist Youth Fellowship members traveled to Luther College in Decorah last Sunday to hear Handel's Messiah. A capacity audience filled Aled Preua Auditorium for the Christmas oratorio. the group formed recently and elected its officers of the year. They meet Sunday nights at 7:90 in the Methodist Church with worship and discussions led by the youth to foster leadership. A fall ride party and a Christmas party are planned.

Edwin McCarville of Dike son of Mr and Mrs Michael McCarville of The Springs marries Inez Pruin of Dike daughter of Mr and Mrs Peter Pruin in a double ring ceremony at the Little Brown church in Nashua. Car Truck Collision Near Davis Corners Injures Oyes

A car driven by Ted Oye with his wife and daughter from Laverne Minnesota collided head on with a Kleen Mald bread truck near Davis Corners. The 1941 Chevrolet sedan front end was crushed while the truck overturned in a ditch. The truck driver was uninjured. The Oyes received facial injuries and Mrs. Oye a knee laceration. They were returning from Davenport where they visited. Highways were probably a factor.
