Obituary of John Derr in Howard County Remembered Family Ties
John Derr longtime Howard County resident died suddenly December 10 after a heart attack near Burgess and Sons Lumber. He was 78, born February 17, 1953 in Medort Prussia, came to America at 14, married Dorothy Frank July 4, 1875, and had ten children. Funeral at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. I. W. Moench, burial at New Oregon cemetery. Survived by nine children, one brother Michael, 30 grandchildren, and many relatives across Iowa Illinois and Wisconsin.
