Events include a corn signing on the Waite farm Vernon Springs with 405.00 total on 9020 bushels, sealed and cashed by First National Bank Lime Springs.

Milly Olson daughter of Aira Terthha Olwon of Ling Springs and Jones Nelson of Crystal Lake Cresco united in marriage Tuesday at the Cresco Lutheran parsonage by Rev HL Mr. Narmaan. Miss Wilma Larson cousin of the bride was bridesmaid Melvin Olean brother of the bride best man. The couple will reside in Crystal Lake. Best wishes from the community.
A Bristol man, Finckh, sustained a deep finger cut when a saw blade struck him last Thursday while cutting wood. On Friday, Emerson Haurugart’s son Gaylord Maon Gariner, of Emerson Haurugart Nef, also appears in the cor respondence with similar injuries, reflecting a sequence of rural workshop mishaps in the region.

A. G. Buchanan is recommended to be appointed postmaster at Lime Springs to fill the term of John Rueanik who expires April 24, 1951. Congressman Biermann supports the nomination as part of his favor for a local candidate amid other contenders. Wuehanan, an active Lime Springs resident, banker, church and lodge member, and quartet performer, is noted as a strong local figure in the postmaster consideration.
Ten men are employed by Lime Springs on a CWA project to extend the drawrows Narain. Workers include Dock Freet Tend Vogel Mose Uwen Clifford Loblek Percy Hagen Ornte Taylor Riley Armatrong Albert J Tunter Frost Floyd Targeson. Government pays labor costs while materials are town supplied. Weekly wage is six dollars per hour. Previous project added 32 men with total wages about 9950. Other local workers listed include Thos HL Jones Arthur Jfall Don Bowers John D Hughes John Hnoopman Jaames Lunter Ward Hus McCaustland Sau Welborne Ben Davis Kasner Armstrong Arnold Inns Omer Croxton Dick Nefun. Fifteen women will soon join for Red Cross sewing.
The American Legion Auxiliary met at the home of Mrs. Madge Jones Tuesday evening. Cards of thanks for articles sent to Supply Shelf at Des Moines and Knoxville were read. A card from Cresca to the county meeting at Cresca was noted. Date to be announced later. Carpet rags will be sent to Knoxville hospital for disabled veterans. Lunch was served by Mrs. Madge Jones and Mrs. Nellie Parry.
Emma Perry daughter of Mr and Mrs Mert Perry east of Cresca wed Gadree Soubrada at the Baptist parsonage Wednesday afternoon November 29 Rev Alexander Roberson officiating. Attendants were Dills Lucille Ruzicka and Frank Soubrada. Wish them happiness in married life.
The Colwell independent basketball team visits Friday to open the local boys season at the school gym. Admission is 10 cents for adults and 25 cents for students. Everyone urged to attend.
