Harmony Banker Commits Death by Own Action

Brokken cashier of the People's State Bank of Harmony shot himself at his desk after state bank examiners entered. He died in the rear room soon after. An uncle, Brokken of Preston, learned of the tragedy as he drove to Harmony and struck and killed John Elton, 65, who stepped from behind a truck into the path of his car. The bank had recently adopted the waiver plan.

Town basketball team organized in Lime Springs

An independent basketball team has been organized in Lime Springs with Earl McCaustland as coach. Fourteen named players attended the first practice including Eaton Hammack Vander Bie and Moore, with four ex-high school players. No games scheduled yet, but good competition expected this winter.

Mrs L E Grabau Died Wednesday In Albion Two

Mrs L E Grabau aged about 12 years has died at her Bonair home in Albion Two following a long life of church work and family service. She leaves husband L E Grabau and four children along with siblings and grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the home and the Nethodist Episcopal Church of Bonair with burial in the Philips cemetery.

Hearst to Speak at Cresco Farm Bureau Meeting
