The Lime Springs Community Club met at the school lunchroom after a Band Mothers dinner. President Milton Graf led as members adopted a new Constitution renaming the group the Lime Springs Commercial Club. The constitution committee included Wendell Vander Ble H. H. Adix L. H. Novak and Don Gray. New directors elected for two year terms were Rev. Clifford Thaden Don Gray and Leonard Novak. for one year Norman Zachow Herbert Jones and James Shoemaker. Norman Zachow was named chair pro tem.

A bumper corn season has Lime Springs shelving and selling large quantities directly to local grain dealers. About 63 railroad carloads, each 1800 bushels, have left Lime Springs this fall, plus 35 trailer loads averaging 700 bushels. Cattle feeders also trucking corn in from Lime Springs to Cedar Rapids Clinton and Davenport, while rail shipments head to commission firms.
