Bert Thomas Former Rural Carrier Dies at 71
Bert Thomas retired rural mail carrier died Tuesday at St Joseph's Hospital New Hampton at age 71. Funeral services set for Friday December 2 at 2 00 p m at Lime Springs Methodist Church with Rev L C Smith of Bennet Iowa assisting. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Masonic rites. He is survived by daughters Florence Moore Minneapolis and Dorothy Stolz New Hampton and six grandchildren.

The American Legion Auxiliary met on Tuesday November 21 with Geneva Garrison leading a lesson on Education. Dorothy Hitchen reports sending a box to the State Hospital and asks for old Christmas cards and Butternut Coffee can strip ends. A Christmas party with pot luck is set for December 16 at 6 30 pm. Donations of baby and girls clothing size 1 2 or 3 and nonperishable foods are requested for child welfare and Christmas baskets.
