Collision Averted As Plymouth Ditches Vehicle

On August 2, 1968 at 12 15 p m on highway 3 about two and a half miles northwest of Lime Springs a 1968 Plymouth sedan owned by Ethel M Eggers of New Hampton went into the ditch after attempting to avoid a head on collision with a car driven by Gudrun Benson of Brady Nebraska. Eggers sustained a sprained ankle and the car suffered about 350 dollars in damage. Sheriff Percy Haven investigated the crash.

Cresco Car Hits Cow on Granger Blacktop

A Cresco man Harvey E Howland driving a 1858 Dodge hit a cow on the Granger blacktop four miles north of Cresco about 1 am August 11 1968. The cow belonged to Byres and Leferink. The car sustained about 400 damage with no injuries reported. Sheriff Percy Haven said he was traveling south with another car approaching with bright lights and did not see cattle until it was too late to avoid collision.
