Howard Lubbers Wins Lake Okoboji Vacation Drawing
Howard Lubbers of Lime Springs won the Lake Okoboji vacation in a Friday drawing at the Town Hall. Richard Cray of Chester, the first winner, declined the free trip and proposed an alternate draw among four runners up Hoyd Sinning Joe Granahan Clarence Termant and Howard Lubbers. The winner and Anna Lubbers begin a weeklong party starting Sunday Aug 11 with sponsors thanked by The Herald for promoting the event.

Mrs Lena Borgan 77 laid to rest in Cresco area services
Lena Borgan 77 died July 38 1968 after a stroke. Born May 18 1891 in Howard County she was the eldest of ten and a longtime member of Saetersdal Lutheran Church. She lived in Lime Springs later in Cresco with her daughter LaYoune Keane and family. Survived by four children Foster Olif Gaylord Hazel Davis and La Venne Keane. fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. sisters Carrie Owens Bertha Hovey Gere and others. brothers Ole Eddie Oliver Clarence and more.
