Second Old Town Car Crash Injures Residents
Sunday crash at the corner in front of the Herman Bundrick home involved Donald Bowers and Willard Lloyd. Ward’s car rolled onto its side, injuring Mrs. Leltz, Robert Jones, and Willard Lloyd. Leltz and Gordon unharmed. Jones and Lloyd required medical care. Lloyd received fourteen stitches for a deep hand wound. Jones three stitches for facial abrasion from broken glass. Bowers was uninjured. only a damaged front fender on his car.

Howard County Sheriff Wins Shooting Honor at Iowa Meet
Sheriff Albert T. Pederson of Howard County claimed top honors in a submachine gun competition at the Iowa Sheriffs association midsummer training in Mason City. He scored 72 of 75 in semiautomatic and full automatic firing, adding to a string of honors. Pederson, 29, had been known as Cresco Pete during his college days at Iowa State Teachers College and held the national wrestling title in the 175 pound class before graduating in 1929.
