The Liberty businessmen received word from the hunter camp that a wild duck supper would be served. About 22 men went to the event and enjoyed roast duck with dressing pickles wild honey and pumpkin pie. Fourteen mallards fed the hungry crowd and the group thanked the hunters for the feast.

Sam Knox W A Robinson Mourn Local Leader Passes At 82
Sam Knox who died at St Mary's hospital Quincy after heart trouble. He was born in Booneville Missouri 82 years ago and lived in Barry Griggsville Pittsfield and other western Illinois towns. He served as Pike County sheriff and truancy officer and was a noted horse dealer and singer in the church choir. He is survived by Leah Hendricks his widow two sons a sister and several brothers. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Pittsfield.
