Last Band Concert on Courthouse Porch
The Bell and Day concert band gave its final summer concert on the courthouse porch Thursday. Prof. Bell thanked merchants for their support and subscribers to the concert fund, hoping to present more concerts next summer. The program included Our Director, Minerva Walls, Salute to Mitchell, Willow Grove March, Overture Il Trovatore, and March Cavalier among others.

Ladeson's Store Robbed in Lexington Burglary
Thieves entered M. Ladeson store Thursday night using a back door key and a broken pane, taking clothes, grips, jewelry, watches and about $7,000 cash. About four suits were stolen, with two youths likely involved, part of a spate of depredations in the Lexington business district.

Death of Robert Law Sr. at Bell Memorial Hospital
Robert Law Sr aged 42 died Thursday afternoon at Bell Memorial Hospital in Rosedale Kansas from Brights disease and dropey. He had been an inmate for eight days. Born in Linlithgowshire Scotland on 6 June 1880, he came to Levington in 1901 and was an engineer at Summit mines. Survived by father Robert Law of this city two sisters Mrs A P Blackwell Lexington and Mrs Maggie Mackle Scotland and one brother James. Remains were brought from Kansas City Friday to Mrs Patrick McIntyre's home on Tenth street, for a funeral at 3 o'clock.

City council approves repairs and payments in adjourned session
Council met in adjourned session on Sept 12 with all members present. The American Sign Co claim for 8.10 for street stone and freight was allowed. Harry Mountain was directed to install wins and horse numbers per contract. A dirt fill for 20th and South streets and drainage pipe for bad spots on 20th were ordered. An 8 foot brick sidewalk was to be built on the east side of the hitching rack, and property owners on Lth street between Franklin and South were to be notified to build brick sidewalks. Meeting adjourned until Monday Sept 10.
