Wentworth Military Academy Opens With Record Enrollment
The Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington begins the 1901 02 term with the largest first day enrollment in its history. Delegations span Missouri Kansas Colorado Nebraska Iowa Indian Territory Oklahoma Arkansas New Mexico Texas Illinois and even California. The faculty includes Col Sandford Sellers Nopkina Kellogg Allen Albro Chulkley Earnhardt Day Stark and others. Public schools in Lexington opened with fair attendance as county fair activities drew some students away. The Presbyterian Union of Westminster Leagues meets in Waverly for two days next week.
