Death of Robert Long in Lexington and Sulphur journey
Robert Long, who came to Lexington with his family from Sulphur Ohio, died Sunday afternoon at his home on 24th Street. He was ill upon arrival and soon developed pneumonia followed by death. He is survived by his widow and one child. The home was taken to Sulphur, Oklahoma for burial.

Private Frank Helman son of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Helman died at Camp Johnston Jac Besonville Florida Saturday afternoon from pneumonia following influenza. He is survived by three brothers and two sisters. The body was brought to Lexington for burial.

Death announced for Capt Prank Thornton a former pilot from this city died Wednesday October 2 at his daughter Mrs John Livingston’s home in Yankton South Dakota. Born June 7 1842 in Nicholas Heart Home West Virginia he served four years in the Confederate Army and later moved to Lafayette County where he ran a firm and served as county clerk until 1808. After leaving office he resided in this city then with his daughter in South Dakota. He married Miss Mattie Pfleger April 30 1872. Mrs Thornton died February 12 19T1. Survivors include three daughters and one son: Mrs D P Bogie and Nannie Thornton of this city Mrs John Livingston Yankton SD and D P Thornton Muskogee Oklahoma.

About 5 30 Monday evening a coal oil stove in Mrs John Major's residence caught fire and seriously menaced the house. Col Wm Trotter quickly summoned the fire department whose prompt action saved the property. Mrs Major expresses gratitude to the firemen and aiding friends.
