Three of the robbers who broke into a freight car at the Missouri Pacific station Wednesday night have been pinched. Marshall Price helped capture them along with a lot of booty.
Mr and Mrs Russell Harding of Cassden Missouri announce the birth of a daughter on Monday October 1910.
A Missouri Democratic candidate appeals to voters amid a five month campaign. He defends his record, pledges harmony, and urges support for the United States Senate while stressing river and regional development. Mrs. Johm Epps is in Kansas City this week visiting her daughter Mrs. Leon Lewis and other relatives including Mrs. Mattie B Cole and Mrs. Joe Bert. She spent Saturday in Higginsville with family.
An examination for forest clerk (male) will be held in this city on November 23. The entry salary in the Forest Service is $1100 or $1200 per year. For further information apply to Geo. Taylor. Mrs. Roy Gable returned Wednesday evening from a visit in Hugginsville. She was accompanied home by Miss Eva Short. Mr. and Mrs. M.D. Wilson spent Thursday in Kansas City. Jno. P. Gordon arrived Wednesday to attend the Cook-Steele wedding. M. Ladeson spent Thursday in Kansas City on business. Mrs. W. M. Hoge and daughter Miss Mary went to Kansas City. Dr. B. Gordon left for Ft Scott, Kansas, Thursday to make a brief visit. Mrs. Chas. B. Owen went to Kansas City Thursday to join her husband and make a future home. Her mother Mrs. Clarence Wilson accompanied her to Kansas City for a visit. Neil Sill returned Wednesday night from a business trip to Kansas City.
Tuesday the transfer was completed whereby Oscar Thomas purchased the business of Jos. L. Long in Lexington Ife, a long time prosperous store. Mr. Long’s first class variety shop becomes Thomas new operation with adaptability and optimism, and his well known integrity is highlighted as a key to success.
Lexington high school defeated W M A third team 11 to 6 on the academy grounds. Tufts and Vore starred for the visitors while Shelby Stark and Aull led the home team to victory with key plays. Referees were all from W M A and game time halves were ten minutes.
John Slyman owner of a general merchandise at Myrick was held up as two men entered his store. One man flashed a gun and demanded cash while the other took about $30. The suspects were described as negroes, with one of the pair believed to be the same robber who hit the operation the night before.
A winter concerto series at Central College drew a large Murrell fall audience. Miss Wynne and Miss Hinesley showcased piano solos including Moonlight and Rondo by Weber with praised accompaniments. Vocalist Miss Compr impressed with coloratura Dell Acqua and two groups, while Miss Todhunter led the Expression department. A novelty solo by Mr Littl and varied selections from Mozart Brahms Schumann and Godard completed a high order program.
Mrs Oscar Andreen and daughter Mrs Howard Henry visited Kansas City yesterday for a day out. Prof E W White also went to Kansas City for a day. Nice Sill traveled to Adeline Kansas on business. Gruber and Robi Sims each went to Kansas City for a few days on business. H F Blackwell attended legal business in Kansas City yesterday.
