The body of William Starkey, killed in a mine explosion at Girard Kansas last Wednesday, was brought to Lexington Friday for burial. Funeral held from the home of Herman Mark on Highland avenue Saturday at 4 o clock. Starkey, born in England, was 51 and survived by his wife and others.

Wentworth Cadets Head to Annual Encampment
Wentworth Military Academy cadets departed Saturday morning on the Missouri Pacific train bound west for their annual encampment. The camp was held at Odessa on the lake, with shelter tents of the State Militia. The march covered ten miles from Wellington to Odessa, and the return march occurred on Tuesday, May 19.

Pennington Arrested After Mule Theft Attempt
On advice from Coffeyville Kansas Lee Pennington was arrested Monday and placed in the city prison. He is wanted on a charge of stealing a pair of mules in Dewar Oklahoma. He left the mules in Coffeyville after securing a loan of 6.00 on them and then came to Lexington where he resides. He attempted a getaway Monday night but the calaboose was too strong for him.

John Price County Leader Dies in Corder Home
John Price a respected county citizen and former resident of this city died Saturday evening at his home in Corder at about 74. Born in England he was elected vice president when Traders Bank organized in 1893. He moved from here about eighteen years ago and is survived by his wife and several children. The funeral was held Monday afternoon and burial was in Corder.
