Missouri Old Trails Road gains across state if funding stays

Dean Walter Wilkans of the Missouri Old Trails Road Association reports the Old Trails Route will span Missouri from St. Louis to Kansas City within two years if road improvements continue. Counties including St. Louis, St. Charles, Warren, Montgomery, Callaway, Boone, Howard, Cooper, Saline, Lafayette and Jackson plan hard-surfacing and widening while bonds and taxes fund grading, dragging, and extending gravel roads. The Case car trip with J. W. Thrownfield demonstrated solid progress and prospects for better roads. The July issue of Woman’s Home Companion highlights national Child Welfare efforts and Better Babies programs with notable articles and travel features.
