Railroad wage hikes seen pushing fare increases
The Railroad Leader Board granted about a 20 percent wage rise, totaling over $600 million yearly. To cover the payroll, railroads sought permission from the Interstate Commerce Commission to raise passenger rates 25 percent and freight rates 10 percent, on top of a 30 percent freight increase already filed. If approved, overall rates would rise sharply, likely drawing railroad employee and public opposition.

The John Deere Van Brunt drill offers four tasks in one pass—furrow, drop, cover, and soil pulverizing—eliminating harrow work and ensuring uniform seed depth for harvest readiness.
