Resolutions On the Death of Dr J J Fulkerson
The Lafayette County Medical Society records the death of Dr J J Fulkerson born Oct 3 1849 in Lee County Virginia and later a physician in Oak Grove Higginsville and Lexington Missouri. He served as county collector and was a long time respected member whose dedication to ethics and charity aided many patients until his death June 6 1914. The society mourns a man of courage and deep sympathy whose life embodied the medical profession’s ideals.

Old Trails Road to Mark Continental Route with Signs
The Los Angeles Automobile Club plans to install permanent metallic signposts along the National Old Trails Road at every mile of the continent, with posts set in cement. Treasurer is Judge J. Lowe of Kansas City, state fund over $5,000. Posts cost up to $6 each. county courts to share expenses. The LA club will keep to the Missouri Old Trails Road toward the Atlantic. Branches from Cheyenne via Denver to Trinidad and possibly a Lincoln Highway branch from Chicago will carry posts but all branches labeled as Old Trails Road. Sign posts not on travelable sections will not be placed. At the Missouri Old Trails Road meeting in Marshall, Missouri, August 10, with basket dinner August 11, Lowe to report on gateposts. Other local business noted.

Death of James F Campbell Oldest county settler passes away
James F Campbell died Wednesday evening at his daughter Mrs Carter's home in Tigginsville Missouri after a long illness. Born in Alabama he was over 46 years of age and survived by three daughters Mrs Carter and Mrs Well of Higeneville Missouri and Mrs Chambliss Anderson Missouri and sons R K and Fd Campbell of Kansas City Missouri. One brother Thomas B Campbell also survives.

Mrs Vivier Returns From Kansas City Operation
Mrs Clarence Vivier arrived back Saturday from Kansas City after an operation. Though very weak she is recovering well. Mr and Mrs Ike Noyes and their son went to Higginsville Wednesday to spend the day. John Sturgis and John Poage also went to Kansas City Wednesday to pass the day.
