Elizabeth Chambers age 86 died Thursday January 12 1906 in Kallas City She was born Elizabeth Cox married John D Chambers in Harper's Ferry Virginia 1845 They lived in Lexington from 1854 to 1879 then moved to Kansas City Her funeral was held in Macpelah Cemetery beside her husband six years after his death Survivors include daughters Cornelia Durgin John T Laddie Thomas Price James N Price and two sons Marsh and Millard She was a longtime Methodist and active Carrollian woman Burial services conducted by Rev Thomas M Cobb Council met in regular session with Mayor Winkler presiding Various city contracts and permissions were approved including brick sidewalk work and granite sidewalks Third Street improvements and a meeting of third class city attorneys in Jefferson City. The mayor also appointed James Menaugh night watchman and adjourned to January 17.

A New Book Promised by Miss Row KE Young

DeArmond Named Adjutant General of Missouri Guard
James A. DeArmond was appointed adjutant general of the Missouri National Guard by Governor Folk. A Wentworth Academy alumnus and editor of the Bates County Democrat, he is the son of Congressman D. A. DeArmond. The two highest officers in Missouri’s National Guard are WMA alumni, with Brig. Gen. Harvey Clarke also an old WMA man.
