County Board Sets Road District Terms for 1908
The county board approved road districts in arrears and the J N Mitchell contract as superintendent of the county poor farm for the year starting March 1 1908. It fixed a road overseer salary of 2.50 per day and required at least four teams when roads were worked.

University Glee and Mandolin Clubs Delight Local Audience
A modest crowd welcomed the University of Missouri glee and mandolin clubs at the New Grand Tuesday evening. Twelve numbers drew enthusiastic response with numerous encores. Key moments featured C. A. Rockwood and A. K. Ladd, Wentworth grads, Rockwood delivering a solo and a coveted encore with Bedouin Love Song and Dreaming. The quartet's Until the Dawn and My Brighten lyrics drew acclaim. The glee club earned praise as among Missouri’s best, though the mandolin group lagged slightly behind, still winning repeated encores. The show satisfied throughout.

Juvenile Arrested for Grand Larceny of Buggy
Wednesday afternoon Sheriff Chas Kinkead arrested Jewett Busey a 14 year old on a grand larceny charge. He admitted stealing a buggy from C L Witte manager of Wilmot's mine store, claiming intoxication. Busey has prior scrapes but no jail time before.
